Scratch Orchestra
The story so far...
During 2010 the Scratch Orchestra Salisbury (SOS) formed an inter-generational mixed- ability group of talented musicians and dancers to work together.
We kicked off with a two day workshop at Easter which brought together over 20 participants
in a brand new fusion of African rhythms and improvised melodies with dancers who found themselves with the opportunity to not only dance to live music but influence what the musicians were playing.
Regular dance sessions to work on choreographic motifs led to two more sessions with live musicians and culminated in a performance to members of the public in the White
Room at Salisbury Arts Centre in July.
Following our recent successful event with more than 40 participants SOS is now looking to encourage more disabled and young dancers and musicians to participate in this ongoing project.
Would you be interested in working in partnership with us to take this exciting project forward? We can provide further information and would be happy to meet with you.
